A Personal Note
When I first realized what I was doing for my clients was teaching them self-leadership, I threw myself into developing the methodology and frameworks.
Very few people had heard the term "self-leadership" in the late 90s and early 2000s, so I thought I had invented it.
Then, I received an email from Dr. Ana Kazan, who had read one of my articles, and she shared her work on self-management under professors Neck and Houghton. Together, we began to consolidate the work and added our own research, culminating in the book, '𝗦𝗘𝗟𝗙 𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗗𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗣: 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗕𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗮 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗳𝘂𝗹, 𝗘𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗢𝘂𝘁' (McGraw-Hill, 2012). Speaking about self-leadership has taken me to 40 countries and enabled me to work with organizations like Microsoft, Red Hat, Singapore Airlines, and Deloitte, to name a few. My vision is to change that, and to do that, I need to share my insights with the right people.
