Emotional Intelligence @ Work

Emotional Intelligence Training

1 or 2-day programme - Ideal for Employees and New Managers

Emotional Intelligence, also called EI or EQ, describes an ability, capacity, or skill to perceive, assess, and manage the emotions of one's self, of others, and of groups.

Emotional intelligence is at the heart of Self Leadership and good relationships are essential within any organisation. Employees who can manage their own emotions and respond to the emotions of other make better decisions, get the job done more effectively and build relationships with internal or external clients.

Jack Welch, former CEO of General Electric said, "A leader's intelligence has to have a strong emotional component. He has to have high levels of self-awareness, maturity and self-control. She must be able to withstand the heat, handle setbacks and when those lucky moments arise, enjoy success with equal parts of joy and humility. No doubt emotional intelligence is more rare than book smarts, but my experience says it is actually more important in the making of a leader. You just can't ignore it."

"Research shows convincingly that EQ is more important than IQ in almost every role and many times more important in leadership roles. This finding is accentuated as we move from the control philosophy of the industrial age to an empowering release philosophy of the knowledge worker age.” - Dr Stephen Covey, Author of Seven Habits of Highly Effective People.

It has been calculated that EQ alone explains 58% of a leader’s job performance and 90% of top performers are high in EQ; the good news is that EQ can be developed.

Self Leadership International's Emotional Intelligence workshop equips employees and new managers with the ability to emotionally manage themselves, their peers and sub-ordinates. Using the latest developments in Neuro-Semantics participants are engaged and challenged to understand and gain control of their emotional responses and to read and respond to the emotions of others.
