A 'Flow State'
Psychologist, Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, says we have 'peak experience' or 'flow' states when we challenge ourselves with tasks requiring a high degree of skill and commitment. Flow states are characterised by full engagement such that time goes away, and the task seems effortless.
A Genius
A genius is a person with distinguished mental prowess. This can manifest either as a foremost intellect, or as an outstanding creative talent. The term also applies to one who is a polymath, or someone skilled in many mental areas. The term does specifically apply to mental rather than athletic skills, although it is also used to denote the possession of a superior talent in any field.
Self Awareness
In Neuro-Semantics and Meta-Coaching, self awareness is the 'step-back' skill, the ability to consider our thoughts and feelings, know what triggers them, and ask - "is this useful?" or "does this empower me?" Self awareness is a trait of those who have achieved self-leadership or genius.
Mind-body states
A state is the sum of all neurological and physical processes within an individual at any moment of time. A state represents and includes emotions, mood attitude etc. A primary state, such as anger, fear or love, is triggered by an external stimulus.
Meta States
The phenomenon that occurs when we put one state into a hierarchical relationship to another, such as fear about fear or love of learning. Meta-States texture our experience and when we learn to utilise them through Neuro-Semantics we can create designer states such as playful-curious-learning, abundant-creative-wealthbuilding and joyful, uplifting, presenting. Alternatively we can use Meta-States to reduce painful states, such as, calm about anger, patient about frustration or acceptance of sadness.
Intentional
An intentional state of mind is one that is "about" something. When we are intentional, we know what we are about, i.e. mission, vision and values. Intentionality creates focus.
Walk the Talk
Walking the talk is essential for self-leadership and genius, it creates congruety and power. Walking the talk is about closing the knowing-doing gap so that our intentions are connected to our actions which manifest our results.
In the Accessing Personal Genius training we teach the mind to muscle pattern that allows us to take any intention and embody it so that it becomes part of our being.
Dragons
A metaphor for those toxic thought-feeling patterns that disempower us. Dragons include such limiting feelings and beliefs such as "I'm not good enough", "fear of failure", "needing to be perfect". Dragons often present themselves as an internal dialogue such as "who do you think you are?", "why do you think you can do this?"
