What is DISC about?

Effective communication provides the foundation for all successful personal and professional relationships. However, the alarmingly high number of failed or troubled relationships is evidence of the fact that most people are not effective in expressing themselves or understanding other people.

The DISC Assessment tells us how a person behaves and performs in the work environment. This profile helps individuals understand how they project themselves to different people in different situations, so they can develop strategies to meet the needs of the role, culture and people

The tests classify four aspects of personality by testing a person's preferences in word associations.

DISC is an acronym for:

  • Dominance - relating to control, power and assertiveness
  • Influence - relating to social situations and communication
  • Steadiness - relating to patience, persistence, and thoughtfulness
  • Conscientiousness - relating to structure and organization
